Luxe Life: L’Auberge du Père Bise, Talloires, France

There are some experiences in life that become benchmarks against which all else is judged. Such is the case with our recent visit to L’Auberge du Père Bise. This stunning restaurant and boutique hotel, situated in the picture postcard perfect Bay of Talloires on the shore of Lake Annecy is a true jewel in it’s surrounding stunning landscape. We arrived after a full day’s drive from the Italian Riviera to find ourselves entranced by the stunning azure blue of the lake, reputedly the purest water in Europe. The picture below looking through the window... Read More

It’s arrived! The new capsule collection from Mr. Christian Lacroix, the master of seduction, and Aubade is here.  It was certainly worth the wait. Luxe Life: Termali Spa, Locarno

Here at The Luxe Company we think our blog should be more than just another sales channel. We want to inspire, educate, inform and delight you. With that in mind we’re starting the first in a series of irregular reviews of some of the ‘luxe’ places we’ve been or experiences we’ve had. First off is the fabulous Termali Spa in Locarno, Switzerland. Situated right on the shore of Lake Maggiore, this is a spa to really enjoy. From the moment you enter the door the environment feels calm and tranquil.... Read More

A Guide to Neutral Style

Pioneered as a concept by Giorgio Armani in the ‘80s and championed by the likes of Helmut Lang, Jil Sander and Calvin Klein in the ‘90s, neutral colour palettes were the antidote to the flamboyant style of the ‘70s, punk of the ‘80s and grunge of the ‘90s. Working hand in hand with minimalism, it was the grown-up cool, defined by clean lines and fuss-free, pared-back accessories; in essence, completely effortless. Minimalism brought it’s own challenges though. Who can really live in a spotless environment? Didn’t those razor sharp lines leave you feeling... Read More

Warmer weather is here at last. It seems like it’s been a long cold, wet winter. But now the nights are short and the temperature’s heating up and already we’re noticing that getting a restful night’s sleep is more of a challenge. So we have a plan, and it’s called… MEY FOR MAY Comfort is what it’s all about and Mey underwear is exactly the brand you need over thesummer months ahead. Natural fabrics and seamless manufacturing combine to give the wearer the maximum comfort.   We have a limited number... Read More

How hard can it be? My rant of the week!!

Reselling on Amazon – OMG! If there’s an award somewhere for making a process complicated then I want to nominate Amazon’s reselling process. It’s taken 2 days to get just 5 products listed. The account’s been open for weeks but no-one thought to mention to us that we would need specific Amazon approval to see clothes. Dear God, you’d think we were selling enriched uranium or something equally as dangerous. They’re just clothes. OK, so now we’re approved. Thank you Amzon. I sleep much better at night knowing I have your... Read More

What a week!

The title says it all – what a week it’s been. The Living North Spring Fair at Newcastle races took up most of our time. I take my hat off to those companies who do these shows week in and week out around the country. Trust me, it’s hard work (and if anyone  doubts me,  feel free to step in a do the next one instead of me!). Seriously though, Newcastle was a great event for us. It’s so encouraging when you’ve spent months putting a business together to get... Read More
